To share Gods Love to the destitute children in the streets of Nakuru in order to reestablish their lost hope and restoring their dignity, through Rescuing, Rehabilitating and Reintegrating them back to the society again.

About Bethesda


Bethesda Children Ministry
... is a church ministry under the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya (E.L.C.K) in collaboration with the Swedish Lutheran Mission.
... started in the beginning of 2003 with street work and Drop-in. Bethesda Childrens Centre was officially opened in March 2004.
... is networking closely both with the Children Department and with other governmental and non governmental stakeholders dealing with Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) in Nakuru.

House of Mercy
Bethesda means ”House of Mercy” and was a place outside Jerusalem where there was a pool. Sick people came there to wait for the water to get disturbed, so they could step down and get healed. This is the place where Jesus healed a sick man that had been waiting there for 38 years. Bethesda Children Ministry wants to invite the children in the streets of Nakuru to Bethesda. Not because of some magic water, but because Jesus is there and He is ready to heal each and every one of them.

Street Children in Kenya
About 160 million children are fighting for their survival along the streets of the towns in different parts of the world. Kenya is not an exception of this scourge. Though the government is trying to eliminate the problem we still have about 150 000 children on the streets of Kenya. [Read more]
